​Just like the foods I put into my body, I am conscientious about the products I put onto my body. Have you looked at the labels on most skin care products lately? The skin is the largest organ in the body and all those toxic substances and chemicals are easily absorbed through the skin and into the bloodstream.

In the US major loopholes in federal law allow the cosmetics industry to put thousands of synthetic chemicals into personal care products even if those chemicals are linked to cancer, infertility or birth defects. As untested chemicals have been steadily introduced into our environment, the incidents of breast cancer have risen dramatically. The average woman absorbs 5 lbs. of chemicals from skincare products PER YEAR. Only 11% of 10,500 chemicals in skincare products have been tested for safety.

Common skincare ingredients such as Mineral Oil, Paraffin, and Petrolatum adhere to the skin like a plastic coating, clogging pores and creating a build-up of toxins. They slow cellular development, creating early signs of aging. Due to their proven disruption of hormone activity, Parabens have been linked to skyrocketing cancer rates. Traces of parabens have even been found in breast tumor samples.

That is why I make my own facial and skincare products.  Like the food I ingest, I want to know that every ingredient I put on my skin is pure, wholesome, and good for my body. I don’t rely on store-bought products that contain questionable ingredients. I prefer the natural resources God has already provided.
